Like Efren, I also keep many of the smaller schooling fish: esp., rasboras, rainbows and tetras. I combine them for dither fish in my Dwarf Cichlid tanks.
Unfortunately I like the fish as much as I like the plants. Yeah, I do!

Hence the bad case of MTS (multiple tanks syndrome.)
I've been drawn to plants my whole life. Can't really imagine myself not mucking about in the dirt (soil). I 've always had a crazy assortment of houseplants, and an ever-expanding mixed flower gardens. For me, having the fish swimming among the submersed foliage provides an added, magical allure that holds my interest with the aquatic plant side.
I break my tanks into two subgroups. One handful are larger tanks which feature the plants first; have higher lighting (mostly medium light, some high); w/ CO2 supplementation & fertilization regimes; and an attempted "scape". The other are low tech with easy plants, but cater to breeding fish. Currently I've been really enamoured with the Dwarf Cichlids and have half a dozen + I've breed, or am trying to breed.
Perhaps I'll start listing a tank at a time:
In my largest,
75 gallon, I have a big school of Emperor Tetras that rule the tank. A single female Koi Angelfish - who 's most like a pet. Two groups of Dwarf Cichlids: a pair of
Laetacata dorsigera and trio of
Apistogramma macmasteri 'Red', fill in the lower levels. I'm thinking of adding a school of Panda cories that need a different home. There's also the clean up crew of several SAE, ottos and BNP.
